History of Sports Boules Singapore

Created in 1989 to promote the sport of Petanque to the general public. First introduced to Singaporean as a recreational exercise for senior citizens in 1985 by the People's Association and the Singapore Sports Council. It takes the Federation many years to change the mindset of the public, that Petanque is a "SPORT FOR ALL AGES". Today , we are coaching enthusiastic players from primary, secondary, Junior Colleges and Polytechnics in this sport.

Today we have 18 affiliates with many registered petanque players. Junior members are increasing in numbers and training is carried out everyday for players in order to  prepare them for the SEA Games, World Championships, Asian Championships and regional competitions. Talented players are being sent overseas for training and competitions.
